GameSpy Abschaltung: EA deaktiviert vorerst 50 Spiele

Im Rahmen der GameSpy-Abschaltung wird Electronic Arts gegen Ende Juni rund 50 Spiele abschalten. Der Konzern hat eine vollständige Liste der betroffenen Spiele veröffentlicht. Darunter sind bekannte Titel wie Battlefield 1942, Command & Conquer Generals sowie Crysis 2.

Aufgrund technischer Herausforderungen und Probleme mit der Nutzer-Erfahrung sieht sich Electronic Arts zu diesem Schritt gezwungen. Es wären zwar Lösungen ermittelt worden, um die Spiele am Leben zu erhalten, allerdings konnte kein Lösungsansatz überzeugen.

Dem Unternehmen nach, ist es bekannt, dass einige Spieletitel dennoch eine große Fangemeinde haben und es würden weiterhin Optionen geprüft werden. Leider gibt es technische Hürden, die seitens des Unternehmens abgeschätzt und analysiert werden müssen, weshalb noch keine weiteren Angaben gemacht werden können.
